Far away from the swamped mechanical life, free from pollution, crazy sound of vehicles, there is a place which gives you a sense of happiness. If you are a nature lover then this is the place for you to be. Lost in the back waters of Alleppey, indulged in your own thoughts you can feel the serenity within.

Boat House

First of all let me give you some details of the house boat my friends and i hired to travel along the Vembanad lake. It had a hall with the sofa, dining table and TV. There were 3 rooms with the attached bath. Right now i am feeling like posting an add which says "House for rent". But yes you feel like home here.

There will be a cook who will prepare food that you need. I tasted Puttu(kinda Idli) with Kadale curry. It was yumm. Also for the non vegetarians there are fish delicacies available.

We started our boat journey by morning after visiting Alleppey beach. After an hour of photo ops with my friends, it was the time to soak myself in to the beauty of the surroundings. The lush green coconut trees, cool breeze, gushing water sound takes you to the whole new world.

There are nice resorts situated along side of the lake. We were travelling through the waters until evening and then the boat was brought to halt. Evening we just got down and wandered through some village. Played some fun games. We came back to the house boat as it got dark and then it was nothing much other than having food and sleeping. Beware of the mosquitos, even though there are mosquito repellent.

Next day we got up early, enjoyed the view with a nice breakfast. Saw so many birds in the lake. At about 10.00 am we were dropped off and then our journey continued towards Kochi.

Overall it was a nice experience. I could say 5 out of 5. You can hire the boat on hourly basis as well. Do plan your trip to Alleppey sometime. You will not be disappointed.
